The First People’s Principles of Learning are a crucial part of the new BC curriculum for teachers, and myself. As part of Truth and Reconciliation, I recognize the history of the land, it’s people and use it in every lesson I make as a reflective means on my own teaching practice. Am I following these guidelines, and which ones specifically do I connect to in each lesson. These are always questions I ask, and line up with my own philosophies and what I believe in how we should treat and cherish our fellow people across the world.
